New Tool on Twitter to Report sexual harassment of women

Twitter users can report their abuse in detail through a
form "WAM Twitter Harassment Reporting Tool". There is a choice of
categories of abuse to be reported by the users, including impersonation, harsh
threats, publication of false information, photography pornographic, racist
spiel sexual harassment by phone and other offline methods.

WAM Executive Director, Jaclyn Friedman said the team was
delighted to work with Twitter in order to become a more secure platform for
women.
Based on a survey by the Pew Research Internet Project,
approximately 25 percent of women aged 18 to 24 years had experienced sexual abuse
online, and 26 percent had watched online,
Twitter, the largest micro-blogging site in the world, will
develop a tool that can be used against abuse of women and help women who are
abused online immediately and may help the authorities to prosecute the
perpetrators of abuse.
